Elementary School Programs

"We Can Work It Out" is a 5 week program for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade that focuses on ways of working out anger in a positive, non-violent way.

Through the use of children's literature, games, finger plays, songs, and role plays, children learn:

  • That everyone gets angry
  • That anger is okay
  • Skills for effective and safe conflict resolution

"Bullying and Teasing" helps children to answer the question: What can I do if I'm being bullied?

Through the use of children's literature, this 3 week program helps children understand the dynamics of bullying and teasing.

They explore:

  • What is bullying and teasing?
  • Why do people bully and tease?
  • How does it feel to be bullied and teased?
  • What you can do to help
New Beginnings' School Education Programs are activity and discussion based and aim to engage the students in construction of their own learning.
Community Programs are also available to community organizations other than schools--including: hospital personnel, law enforcement, social service agencies, churches, and clubs. We provide workshops on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault to any community group who wishes to learn more. These programs are available at no cost and may be customized to meet your needs.
